Meet Olivia

The Sandwich Historical Society is lucky enough to have attracted the interest of a dynamic and talented curator, Olivia Padula. She sought us out after graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in May of 2022 with a BA in Art History and a minor in Studio Art. She began working at the Sandwich Glass Museum in February of 2023 as a volunteer intern and after 18 months of being, in a word, indispensable, has worked her way to her current position as the Curator of Collections.

Olivia favorite part of the job is researching the objects in the collection to re-discover the intricacies of how they were made and their stories. Although her experience is primarily with historical objects, Olivia also enjoys working with contemporary glass artists to design exhibits and catalogs that share their wonderful artistry with the public.
