The Sandwich Historical Society is ‘Opening the Vault’

For over a year now, members of the Sandwich Historical Society have been hard at work on an exciting project to make the objects in our collection publicly accessible. Since its foundation in 1907, the SHS has been collecting antique Sandwich Glass, household objects, paintings, photos and other memorabilia that tell the rich story of the Boston & Sandwich Glass Co., Sandwich, and Cape Cod. Many of the items in our vast collection haven’t been on display in years, but with recent upgrades to our digital database, we are now able to make these items searchable on the sandwichhistoricalsocitey.org website. On our website, under the research section, you will find over 11,000 searchable records with images, dates, and descriptions.

We are thrilled to be able to offer this new research tool to the public and to share our extensive collection with you! History is meant to be shared.
